The first-ever African Innovation Week took place in Addis Ababa at the African Union Headquarters, Oct. 28 – Nov. 2. AIW is an international conference, showcasing entrepreneurship in Africa.
I was honoured to be among the keynote speakers. Our experience of scaling HotelOnline across Africa is one of my favorite topics!
Africa is experiencing an entrepreneurship boom, where Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt and South Africa are at the forefront. Innovators like Andela, Flutterwave, Cellulant and of course, HotelOnline, are leading by example!
Today’s successful startups are tomorrow’s engines of economic growth and job creation. Most African economies still offer limited opportunities in the formal sector. Hence, the future of the continent depends on young, innovative minds creating employment for themselves and others!
I believe AIW is an amazing initiative, and I look forward to seeing this conference grow and expand in the years to come!
